More and more hip hop artist are starting their own music label and becoming a music producer. The well-known music producers in the hip hop music industry are Russell Williams, Jay z and Sean combs all successful and powerful. As the generations changes, new hip hop artist are trying be a music producer for example, Usher who's the music producer of Justine Beiber a younger generation. This is becoming more and more common for older hip hop artist that are thirty and above. Some will become powerful and successful just like the respectable men mentioned above and some will not make it.

Music producers can be likened to movie directors, in that the roles are very similar to their specific industries. Successful producers are responsible for the sound and feel of your favorite radio tunes. They are part artist and part businessmen, and oversee almost every element of the music production process, from song selection to the finished product. A good music producer is a valuable commodity in the music industry. They can tell the difference between a rough mix of songs to a polished, radio-ready album. You can't become a good music producer overnight. You'll need to learn from professionals, study music and offer sound advice and encouragement in the recording studio.

Start building your connection within the industry. Keep a PowerBook or text message list of all relevant contacts and make a point of regularly updating it. Send periodic ecards, jokes or other light communications to cement relationships, and keep your name in front of other people who can help your career. You need to take as many classes as you can on being a music producer. Knowledge is critical to surviving and thriving in the music industry. More than 150 colleges now offer bachelor's degree programs in the music industry. These programs offer an ideal introduction to how the industry works, so take advantage of them while you are an undergraduate. Do not limit yourself to one particular area or specialty. Try to learn as much as you can and absorb all the information given to you.

Listen to plenty of music and become acquainted with music industry. In order to effectively produce music, you'll need a sound knowledge of how instruments and sounds interact with one another. If you can learn how to play as much instruments as you possibly can. This will allow you to understand the mechanics of the instruments and how to make modifications to achieve the best sound possible. Familiarize yourself with modern production technology and technique. For example, modern producers should be aware of digital recording technology, sampling and beatmaking.

Remember, most hip hop artist will look up to you so be as optimistic as possible. Coach the artists you are recording and motivate a productive and positive working environment. For example, if a vocalist is having trouble hitting a certain note in the song, offer words of encouragement and give advice on how to best reach the note.
