History Of The Act Theatre Education

Theatre is a branch of fine arts that is used in presenting past or present events, real or fictional stories in live stage performance. Theatre is a term originated from the Greek and used to refer to the place where an act is performed or staged. Actors portray their acts through the use of speech, gestures, facial expressions and mimics as well as song, music and dance, aspects taught in act theatre education.

Theatre and most of its modern form was originated from the Greeks i. E. Terminologies used, the different classifications of genres, cast of characters as well as plot elements among numerous others. In the class, performances of the following are included; musicals, ballet operas play comedies drama.

There is a wide variety of courses that fall under the different categories and types of act theatre. The first type is drama which is the form in which a writers fictional concept is represented in form of a live performance enacted on stage for a live audience. Famous examples of drama are William Shakespeare's hamlet and Oedipus the king by Sopheles.

Drama can be fused with music and dance. For instance, in opera the drama is generally sung throughout the performance. The case is different in other instances such, e. G in musicals both spoken dialogues and songs are included. Other forms of drama have music and dance as accompaniments.

The musical one is another course in theatrical arts. It combines elements of spoken dialogue between actors on stage, song and dance all incorporated into one complete production. It originally emerged from comic opera which led to the emergence of musical comedy

Comedy and tragedy are two additional subgroups of it. Comedy includes productions that use humor as a vehicle to tell stories that qualify as comedies. In comedy the main aim is usually humor in which different literal skills. For instance, in numerous cases, you will find that mimics are adopted for use by the persons involved.

Tragedy on the other hand is a theatrical imitation of actions that are serious presented in an artistic form. It depicts tragic concepts for example in history, love past and present events including others that have an element of tragedy to the characters. It depicts death, loss and suffering and has remained an important site of cultural experimentation. Modern tragedy is also commonly referred to as melodrama, tragicomic or epic theater.

In theatre, an array of different technical skills and aspects are used in accessorizing the cast on stage. These aspects mostly affect the writing structure of a playwrights dramatic text as opposed to other literature texts.

A complete production involves an array of contributions from the cast of actors, the playwright stage director ant the supporting production team. Stagecraft is a collective term used to describe all the technical aspects which include stage arrangements lighting design aspects costumes, props makeup and overall scenography. In conclusion, a good theatrical performance is ultimately rated by the final production and presentation in relation to act theatre education.
